How Did We Begin?
It all started on Tuesday, March 3, 1998 in the Student Union Building on the beautiful campus of Norfolk State University. On this day four students, Demont M. Parker, Ditania A. Vaughan, Javonis D. Hollis, Larry Carpenter, Jr., and one faculty advisor, Professor M. Frederick Cole had a meeting and decided that they wanted to get involved more in the community and help strengthen the morale of African American males. They came up with the name Awesome Psi Awesome social club. They begin to define their colors, purpose, motto, and Coat of Arms. They then came to a mutual agreement to change the name and become a fraternity that will conduct a membership intake process. This was mainly because they wanted to have a close watch on the type brothers that was entering the organization beacuse it takes a real man to become a PSIBERIAN man. After experiencing some difficulties with designing their greek letters, they agreed to adopt the letters Pi Gamma Psi. Finally, the constitution was prepared to be submitted to the university for approval. The first two times the organization went before the board, it was rejected due to minor problems. On the third time it was approved in the spring of 2001. Now, history has been made and the first greek-lettered fraternity to be founded on campus has been approved by a unanimous vote.

The Psibros are here.....
People begin to talk all over campus. Some congradulated and some criticized. However, it did not stop the progress of the brotherhood. They decided that it was time to bring in some new brothers. Before starting their unique membership process that deviated from the traditional hazeful process, they wanted to break the ice. So, they decided to except the challenging task of going through the process to make it official. They took a trip on the ship called "Genesis". In just a short period of time the fraternity has raised funds for charities, touched the lives of young people, rendered services to the community, fed the needy, donated clothes, donated items to schools, rendered assistance to faculty members, and given support to other organizations on campus. We do the understand that the work is just beginning but, we will never die.  In 2003, the Corporate Office and Executive Council of the organization gave permission to the brotherhood to include a constitutionally bonded sorority, Gamma Psi Theta to also serve the community.  We are sympathetic to the needs of society and pledge to serve.  " Together As One, With Faith, We Conquer All."
